Mental Health, Marathons and Faith… a road of redemption
For World Mental Health Day 2022, Mind used spoken word to show the different ways people talk about their experiences, with their awareness campaign, ‘If this speaks to you, speak to us‘.
Mind also released research which demonstrated that in a study of 906 young people aged between 16 and 24, 2 in 5 (40%) said that they couldn’t find the words to talk about their mental health when they are struggling.
In the interview below, I spoke to Shay Grewal on BBC Radio London about the “if this speaks to you, speak to us” campaign and my role in it. We also discuss the inevitable sources of depression and anxiety at a time of such political and financial uncertainty.
I hope that this will help someone to speak openly about their mental wellbeing and embrace the support of those around them.
