I received an offline donation, this morning, from one of the chaps who ran 2014 London for @mindcharity. This kind donation took me to the landmark of £40,000 raised for this wonderful charity since I started the running journey in 2013. A few reflections… 1. Not bad for a fat lad who wanted to run a single 10k and raise £100 2. I am so incredibly blown away by the generosity of so many of you who’ve supported this journey in so many ways 3. My fiftieth marathon, on Sunday 3 October, seems a good moment to retire the blue vest from fundraising service … you can only do it for so long (I’ll continue #21in2021 to the end for all the charities I’m supporting) 4. What a joy and privilege it’s been to be part of Mind London and Brighton teams since 2014, and to share the message of hope with and alongside them 5. I’m so grateful to have made some life changing friendships through this amazing journey on which people so bravely step out of their comfort zone and do the impossible because they want to change the world for others 6. I wanted to change the world for others but the one transformed beyond recognition is my own 7. I’ve been carrying injury most of the year, I’m a stone or so overweight and far from my best condition. Frankly, who cares… Sunday week is going to be one hell of a party!! Last night’s #currynight was definitely a good one!! Always tastes a little better when I cook it the night before. Lovely to have dear friends over a few weeks before their wedding, so super company and good food, even if I say the latter myself!
