What a beautiful start to the morning. Sunday is usually long run day but, right now, any pain free run is a step forward and I could run on the sea front all day every day! Wonderful to bump into the lovely @marathongypsy after her usual brilliance doing Beachy Head Marathon yesterday. And as a bonus, ‘Lucy Legs’ seem to have recovered, said condition being the impact of a PT session with @lucy_b_pt on Thursday morning.

Regretfully, it has become clear that I’ll not be able to complete 21 marathons this year. Genuinely, am not sure how I’ve done nine but ill health and injury has made it a real slog. I’ve given everything but there’s no point breaking myself. I am feeling stronger mentally and physically with every day, and am excited for better times ahead. Thank you for those who have helped me to support @mindcharity @therunningcharity @footballbeyondborders @lupus_uk @saintfrancishospice by donating £4,901. I’m hoping I’ll run at least a couple more marathons in 2021 to get to double figures. I’m going to close my fundraising pages over the next few days, it doesn’t feel right to keep them open when not completing the challenge. The link is in my bio if you’d like to donate still. I wish I was that cartoon superhero who could bosh his way through it all. However, I’m just me, and my health, wife and friends come first. I gave all I could and that’s all I can ever do. Running has not been much fun this year, certainly not since mid-June, four months during which I’ve had a string of injuries! Looking forward to working with P/T @lucy_b_pt and physio @katherinepester. Dream team in the making! It’s not about having a time target but it is about getting back into the condition where I have faith in my body to get me to both start and finish line. If I do that consistently, the times will follow anyway #ukrunchat
