In December 2020, it seemed somewhat presumptive to be listing my races for 2021 given that the COVID19 pandemic continues to place so many restrictions on our lives. By January it seemed a ludicrous thought. However, life is nothing without hope and my hope is that we will be able to share the joy of running at organised events as the year progresses and that I can complete #21in2021 for the wonderful charities whom I am supporting on this journey.
#21in2021 – The Races
Below is the list of provisionally confirmed (an oxymoron if I ever I wrote one!) events which is, of course, pending any changes due to the pandemic.
As you will see, 19 are booked with others to be added. We may end up with another arithmetical disaster if my New York deferral from this year lands next November or if, indeed, I remain a Boston qualifier and eligible for this year’s event. When I say ‘another arithmetical disaster’, some of you will remember that I ended up running 18 marathons in my 2017 fundraising year, mainly because I made the late decision to jump on a plane to Florence and go for a 26.2 mile pootle through one of the world’s most beautiful cities!
This year’s provisional list includes my first multi-day event as I will be running 5 marathons in 5 days as part of the Phoenix Runderbirds Event in April.

The reasons for running haven’t changed. I am as committed, as ever, to changing lives at a time when so many have been shattered. We can still provide hope for those who have either lost so much or, in some cases, have never had anything to lose. You can find out more about my vision and the charities here.
I really hope to see some of you out there during what will be a special year, and I thank you in advance for your support. You can donate to my #21in2021 campaign by pressing the button below.
